Custom Dress Shirts of the Highest Quality

Four Generations of Experience Is Behind Every Measurement

At Fran’s Tailor our commitment to the perfect fit is relentless. Our fit is the hallmark of all our custom shirts and what truly separates us from the rest. Our measuring and pattern-making techniques are time tested, ensuring a perfect fit the very first time. At Fran’s Tailor a hard paper pattern is created for every client to conform to his measurements. No two patterns are the same.

Details that Make a Difference

All of our custom shirts are proudly made in the South Africa, which allows us to oversee every detail of construction. The neck and the sleeve openings are both pre-shrunk ensuring a comfortable fit for the life of the shirt. The collars are specially treated to ensure they do not “bend up” even if you are not wearing collar stays. The buttons are all mother of pearl and double reinforced so that they will not break or fall off.

The Custom Shirt Process at Fran’s tailor

Much like all of the custom garments we create, the process begins with an extensive array of measurements to assure the exact fit of your custom made shirts.

Once the measurement process is completed, you then select the shirting fabrics that appeal to you. There are hundreds of fabrics to choose from, all from high-end mills with long track records of quality. Examples include Ermenegildo Zegna, Tomas Mason, and Loro Piana.

Your measurements and fabrics are then sent to our local workshop and a paper pattern is drafted based on your measurements. Our tailors then begin to hand cut your cloth and the assembly of your shirt then begins.

Once assembled, your shirts are returned to our showroom on hangers, already pressed. At this point our bespoke tailors will ensure your custom shirt fits correctly. If needed, our tailors will make adjustments to the shirt and alter your pattern for future orders.
